The Best Thrifted DIY I’ve Come Across

I usually use this space to show you the DIYs that I do using mostly things I have thrifted. Today; however, we have a special guest DIYer. I wish I knew who created this scrapbook masterpiece, but alas, I do not.

This was clearly made with a tremendous amount of love (and humor) by a child. The fact that it was donated and sold for $.99 is one of the great tragedies of our world.

Without further ado, I present to you, “My Pets” by Unknown Artist.

We’re in for a treat! Let’s see those pets!!

The love of her life. Children and hyperbole go together like mac and cheese.

I’m going to assume, based on the present tense, that Riley was still alive at the time of this album’s creation.

Hmmm, who is Micah and what’s going on here? Where is the author now? Are she and Micah together? Do they have a giant brood of chickens? I HAVE QUESTIONS!

I have to wonder if Leaf’s aggression was what ultimately caused him to become (Dead).

Based on the fact that Dimond was spelled incorrectly when referring to the guinea pig and correctly when the shape was referenced, I’m going to assume the spelling was an stylistic decision. RIP Dimond.

Loud, fast and dead. Got it. Apparently the author was not particularly sentimental about these two.

These appear to be a set of chickens. I have questions as to why Lunar seemed to outlive Blackout by such a significant margin. WHAT HAPPENED TO BLACKOUT!?

Is this the first time in history a chicken has been referred to as a cutie pie? I think it might be. Someone alert the historians.

Snoball seems like she will be missed. But, like, I still want to know why she was the favorite…? What’s the criteria here? What chicken qualities did Snoball possess that were lacking Leaf, Brave, Brewster, Runner, Lunar and Blackout,?

Historians? Are you still here? We have a new first. An “elegant” chicken. Or I guess I should say, “formerly elegant” based on what appears to be a later-added update of "(Dead).

Why did we call a Rooster Foxy? I guess for the same reason my elementary school best friend named her male rat terrier Missy.

That’s it. There was no closure for us, gentle readers. No end page, no attributions, no conclusion. Did she run out of energy? Did she run out of scrapbook supplies? We may never know. There will be no encore. We will have to be satisfied with the art we have just experienced here, for the first and last time.
